Internet Explorer 4 Setup Instructions

Note: You may want to print this page out so you can easily follow these step-by-step instructions.

1. Double click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.
2. At the first question, select the second option (I want to set up a new connection using my phone line or local area network (LAN)) and click Next.
3. Choose Connect using my phone line and click Next.
4. Click OK.
5. Enter the telephone number that we gave you in the box labeled Telephone Number
6. Make sure that Dial using the area code and country code is UNchecked, unless Computerlynx is a long distance call for you.
7. Click Next.
8. Enter your Computerlynx logon name in the User name: box.
9. Enter your password in the Password: box and click Next.
10. Select Yes and click Next.
11. Select PPP and click Next.
12. Select I don't need to type anything when logging on and click Next.
13. Select My Internet service provider automatically assigns me one and click Next.
14. Select Always use the following:
15. Type 208.171.80.1 in the DNS Server: box
16. Type 208.171.80.2 in the Alternate DNS server: box
17. Click Next.
18. Type Computerlynx Network in the box and click Next.
19. Select Yes and click Next.
20. Type your name or whatever you want to display in e-mails that you send (your email address will display separately) in the box and click Next.
21. Type your logon name@cplx.net in the box and click Next.
22. Select POP3 at the top
23. Type mail.computerlynx.net in the Incoming Mail Server: box
24. Type mail.computerlynx.net in the Outgoing Mail Server: box and click Next.
25. Select Log On Using:
26. Type your logon name in the POP account name: box
27. Type your password in the Password: box and click Next
28. Click Next
29. Select Yes and click Next
30. Click Next
31. Click Next
32. Type news.computerlynx.net in the News Server: box
33. Make sure that My news server requires me to log on is UNchecked
34. Click Next
35. Click Next
36. Select No and click Next
37. Click Finish
38. If it asks to restart your computer, do so.
39. Right click on the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop and select Properties.
40. Type http://www.computerlynx.net into the Address: box in the Home Page area.
41. Click OK
